Don't Replace Your Windows! - full!

  • Public Space One 229 N. Gilbert St. Iowa City, IA 52245 United States (map)

An introduction to Old House Window Maintenance

Many owners of older homes think that the only solution to drafty old wooden windows is to tear them out and put in new, vinyl replacement windows. DON'T DO IT! Original windows are not only important to the aesthetics of the house, they are also often better quality and will survive much longer than even new vinyl.

Learn the basics of how to assess the condition of your windows, repair them, re-glaze and seal them so they operate as intended, and keep out the winter winds.

The workshop will be lead by PS1 Facilities Manager Rich Dana, an old-house renovation and restoration contractor for over 25 years.

The workshop will be offered twice:

Sun. 10/9, 10a-12:30p (full!)
Sun 10/16, 10a-12:30p(full!)
at 229 N. Gilbert

Email kalmia@publicspaceone.com if you’d like to join the waitlist!

This workshop is free and open to the public thanks to generous support from the City of Iowa City Climate Action Grant.
